CycleCarbone's carbon capture technology makes use of potassium carbonate in water, a harmless salt solution. The process runs for many months with the same solution without the creation of nasty degradation products.
Potassium carbonate has been known to react with CO2 for over 100 years and to be resistant to side reactions. A full year of capture operation from natural gas combustion will require less than 5% replenishment, no filtration, no cleaning.
Our equipment size compares favorably to most amine-based technologies without all the peripherals: flue gas water wash, intercoolers, solvent filters, reclaimer. Simple and efficient.
CycleCarbone's process runs on low-temperature heat. No steam required or no parasitizing of the host process energy.
The cost of regeneration amounts to harvesting this heat, not to producing steam. Low-temperature means 65 to 80°C , nothing more.
The process is automated and monitored remotely, no constant supervision or human presence on site required.
